What is a soffit?

The exposed surface beneath the overhanging section of your roof’s eave. A soffit usually has small holes that provide air circulation to help ventilate your attic space and maintain airflow. It also takes heat and moisture out of your attic to help prevent wood rot and mold growth.

What is a fascia?

Located where your roof meets the outer walls of your house, the fascia is the piece of wood your gutters are attached to. It acts as a protective layer, stopping water from getting into your roof, and it also provides a smooth, even appearance to your roofline.
